SAN CARLOS SISTER CITY ASSOCIATION

We are committed to fostering global understanding by building meaningful, lasting relationships between San Carlos and cities around the world. Through cultural exchanges, educational initiatives, and people-to-people connections, SCSCA creates opportunities to broaden perspectives, celebrate cultural diversity, and cultivate lifelong international friendships.

Every summer, a select group of students from San Carlos and Omura participate in a homestay exchange that fosters lifelong friendships, cultural understanding, and unforgettable experiences.

This year, our San Carlos delegation immersed themselves in the vibrant culture of Omura, celebrating the Tanabata Star Festival, taking a glimpse Japanese school life, and building meaningful connections with their host families and local community.

In return, we were thrilled to welcome our Omura students to San Carlos for an unforgettable week of cultural exchange. Together, they explored iconic Bay Area destinations including San Francisco, Muir Woods, and Hillsdale Shopping Center, while also meeting the Mayor of San Carlos and experiencing the warmth of our community.
